Did you know you can save on power by setting your kitchen timer to turn off the dishwasher before it dries? Dishwasher temp has already sanitized your dishes. I have a maytag and it dries on most cycles when there is 30 minutes left on the cycle.

Thanks for the tips! I love my dishwasher! I load it all up during the day, then at night right before I go to bed I turn it on and in the morning clean dishes!
Some of you though= IDIOTS!

bearbroker not only is tang good to clean the dishwasher but if you're getting hard water stains on glass ware and dishes (looks kind of cloudy) than running them through a cycle with Tang will remove all of that and leave them sparkling clean with no residue

Yes Tang is what cleans the dishwasher as well as vinegar. You can use a cup of baking soda, run washer to clean your washing machine.

I use a about 2-3 cups of vinegar to clean my toilet. Place it in the toilet before you go to bed. Shut the cover. And by morning you should have a clean toilet that at most will need a quick swish with a brush.
Anyone know how to clean a washing machine?

Seriously, all of you who wrote comments about this topic do not know how funny you all are. I enjoyed reading all the responses, much better then comedy central. Thanks to all who had real tips, those are good to know. I know I will not be buying a front loader any time soon.

i eat out all the time and take home leftovers. i eat them from the box they came in and then my dog's lick whatever's on the bottom of the boxes and i toss them into our burn barrel. i have real expensive china and crystal...never use it, anyone wanna buy it? i have regular glass and ceramic dishes, real silverware, stainless silverware, never use it. i use plastic spoons, forks, knives and toss them into burn barrel too. i can cook like a chef and create pastry like a pastry chef...don't do it tho'. why waste my time doing what other's can do for me? hubby isn't fussy, he loves stouffer's frozen dinners that he can zap in the microwave. he uses real stainless silverware and drinks milk from a tall plastic glass and has coffee in a ceramic coffee mug. i drink diet pepsi right out of the bottle, why dirty a glass? i drink chocolate milk right from the tiny plastic bottle, why use a glass? i feed all the cats on styrofoam dishes and the dog's wash their plates with their tong
