We reached out to our favorite design bloggers to see what's up in the world of design and much unlike the economy, it ain't all doom and gloom. Check out these fabulous, chuckle-worthy finds.

"Keep your hands clean with this pink gun soap. Kind of cute in a way, right (if a gun could be cute)?"

Anne Collins at PointClickHome.com brought this piece to our attention. Bang bang!
"Amazing enough there were a lot of gun designs at the NY Gift Show. If I'd only seen one, I might let it slide, but this glass piece in combination with the other manufacturers' sculptural weaponry really disturbed me."

Laura Sweet of If It's Hip, It's Here thinks death becomes you. Check out her list of 'Cool Things With Skulls.'
"These 'urban creatures' salt and pepper shakers by Vitamin Living now come in black. Those little etched faces are 'urban skulls' from which the salt and pepper flow. The name 'hoodies' is because they look like they are wearing hoods. So cute and fun..."

Another pick from Laura's list, "Skullduggery Chairs - Traditional black chairs with wild skull upholstery.
Bombarock offers a fusion of quality upholstery and design. The union of a traditional craft and the contemporary use and variety of textures and trimmings."

The Moustache
By now we're all used to the 'stache craze...on men. But on our home furnishings and accessories? These curious little buggers are popping up left and right as pointed out by Swissmiss blogger, Tina Roth Eisenberg. "I see a lot of products featuring moustaches these days. I had many posts about this on Swissmiss. I find it highly amusing and can't wait to see more."
We'd like to see these Moustache Hankerchiefs used as cocktail napkins at our next happy hour.

The Moustache
Who couldn't use a pencil with a 'stache? Well, us for one. But hey, it's fun and could give a chuckle when doodling, writing love notes, or sketching your dream mustache.

Kind to the Earth
Our friends over at Shelterrific shared their New York Gift Show Drive-By.
"Recycled, reclaimed, repurposed, renewable - this dominant trend of the 2009 NY Gift Show was apropos as we struggle with a sagging economy and an overtaxed planet." Amen to that.
Here, the Transneomatic Bowl by Fernando and Humberto Campana for Artecnica made of repurposed tire and natural wicker.

We have to agree with Shelterrific on this one. Kiel Mead's "Birdie Lite," is a definite standout. It's a hanging light made from an authentic goose feather shuttlecock! It's coming soon to thefutureperfect.com.
