I think Shabby Chic jumped the shark sometime during the Bush administration. It was one of those fad stores that people found charming but not some place to go to time and again after the first few visits. I'm sure Rachel Ashwell will be able to go back to the drawing board and find something new and kitchy to sell. Look how many times Donald Trump has reincarnated himself. Not all brands or stores will survive the various change in trends and consumer attitude. Maybe people just want to buy stuff that looks new, not handed down from grandma!

It created a wealhty and prosperous nation unprecedented in the history of the world. I went to their web site and was floored by their prices. I hate to see any small business fold, but in this economy, who can afford a thousand dollar mirror or a $175 throw pillow for their sofa?
