Joan Rivers Penthouse

Acid-tongued comedienne Joan Rivers, 75, just put her opulent New York penthouse on the market so she can spend more time in California with her daughter Melissa and her grandson. She bought the property 20 years--and several facelifts--ago. Keep clicking to see pictures of the interior.

The Upper East Side condo has an asking price of $25 million. Check out that cloudy sky ceiling!

Rivers' space has just three bedrooms and 4.5 baths, but occupies 5,190 square feet and includes a two-story gallery, private elevator, 23-foot ceilings, and marble fireplaces.

Original architectural details have been restored by "museum-trained artisans," according to the listing with Sotheby's International Realty.

The cheetah-print rug in this otherwise straight-laced library gives some clue as to who owns the property.

Two terraces boast views of Central Park.

The penthouse is in a neo-French classical style mansion, designed by Horace Trumbauer in 1903.

If Rivers' penthouse, or the price tag, isn't to your liking, perhaps one of the other 11 residences in the building is more your style. Joan Rivers is the condo board president; surely she'll approve you.

Joan Rivers is a great success story! She has worked for what she has.I admire her and would love to have such a lovely home. She also is a giving person and works with "God's Love We Deliver" an organization that provides meals for those who can't afford to buy food.Only Jealous people and haters have negative things to say.

It's a pleasure to see a glimpse of Joan's magnificent New York penthouse. She is a remarkable woman who has worked extremely hard her entire life and I am glad she can enjoy such a wonderful, productive celebrity life. The snide commentary accompanying the photos is offensive and disgusting.

In photo #3, I wonder why the gold wall ornaments on both sides of the fireplace above the paintings are not in opposing directions to complement one another.... Yet, I'm sure they must have been custom carved.... Isn't that a strange oversight? In photo #6, how are those beautiful mirrored doors kept clean OUTSIDE (in MANHATTAN, yet!)? In photo #8, I wish the dried trees were sharply conical and severe (narrow and very tall); they'd be a bit more formal for those KILLER wrought iron doors, which are seriously spectacular!!! PS It goes without saying that this is a palace fit for royalty; this lady has accomplished a tremendous amount -- MUCH more than most. Her brain has allowed her to work her way to tremendous wealth and power. Anyone who can't appreciate this truth is either blind with envy or just plain dumb.

This isn't about Joan Rivers, this is about her home. And If you people didn't like this, i'd hate to see where you're living. Joan's apartment, is gorgeous and covered in delicate things. The walls have beautiful triming, probably made from gold! She has spent lots of money pushing this penthouse to it's best. And I think she deserves every penny of 25 million.

We all cannot satisfy everyone. Each of us do have opinions and it is not necessary to tear an individual apart nor to refer hatred to all of one's faith. As itis said Silence is golden. Each of us do not have to watch a channel as we can switch to another. I refuse to lower my self to destroy another. Enjoy our freedom as others are not as fortunate. and God Bless America.

It is a shame that so many people have this kind of money, a penthouse rarely lived in. While people are losing their jobs, have no home. It is a little much.
