As the obesity rate rises (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that more than a third of adults in the U.S. are obese), companies are looking to capitalize on this growing group of consumers. While plus size clothing is commonplace--Target, Forever 21 and TopShop launched trendy plus size clothing lines already this year--less attention has been paid to the way overweight and obese people live in their homes. Last week BrylaneHome began selling a line of furniture and home accessories called "Plus+ Size Living" which includes oversized bath towels and chairs that hold up to 800 lbs. Give your opinion on the new line in the poll and see more of the products in the gallery.

I know someone who actually sells coffins. He said there is a recent demand for PLUS-SIZE coffins and his company sells them so fast, he can't keep them in stock.Sadly, the PLUS-SIZE coffin customers died simply because they were overweight. :(

I refuse to buy from companies that want me to hover over cheaply made under sized furniture or cars. Some are starting to catch on making stronger seats to carry more weight but not high enough or wide enough

Yeah, that's the ticket: Make it more convenient to be a fatty. But make demonize smokers.Brilliant!

Being a service orientated business the comfort of all client is important. The office furniture needs to be functional and safe. To have oversize, sturdy furniture for the client that needs that sense of well being is a welcomed idea. It's not my place to judge what they look like but it is in my best intrest to serve the needs of all clients. If someone does not require the extra room then they will just enjoy the spacious seating arrangements. I welcome this idea

I am a product buyer. I know for a fact that we buy everything from manufacturers in China. I love working with them because they are always professional and very polite. However, have you ever seen their size???? My 10 year old daughter is the size of the largest Chinese man I have seen. It is not that we are so fat we can't use our own furniture, it is because we are manufacturing in a country where people are very small compared to Americans, Africans, and most Europeans. They make furniture to fit they way they think we look. They do the same with shoes, and clothing. They don't understand the size of people in countries where they have never been!!! It is not that we are huge, it is that they are small!!! We need to pay more attention as designers, and buyers, and who we are buying from instead of counting pennies, and buying things that don't fit anyone here!! I have an American bootie, I want a chair that fits it. I have big American feet, I want shoes that fit. I have a Tall Am

I know what it was to be big and not fit in seat at the theater or ask for a seat belt extender on a plane. Buying tripple xxx was if it fit I would buy it no matter what it looked like. Thats all changed 4 months ago when I got off my fat ass and started exercising. Eight inches off my waist 52 to a 44 and still going smaller. Gained 20 pound of muscle lost 28 ponds of fat and looking forward to no more blood pressure pills and colestroral drugs. I was 54 feeling 84 now I feel like Im 24. That furniture is giong to bankrupt the health care system. Get out that chair take a walk.
