Make your floors runway-ready by outfitting them in one of these 10 rug patterns designed by darlings of the fashion industry. Fashion Underfoot, a collaborative collection between rug retailer Elson & Company and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, brought together fashion designers who--who knew?--also have a flair for flooring. The collection features newcomers like Thakoon and Marchesa and legends like Oscar de la Renta and Calvin Klein.
The rugs are pure Himalayan wool with 100 knots per square inch. They are available for purchase from Elson & Company's website or by calling 1-800-944-2858, and cost $90 per square foot. Ten percent of proceeds will go to the CFDA's Fashion Targets Breast Cancer organization.

The painter's influence spilled over to Peter Som's fashion design. Seen here, a pattern from one of Som's runway shows. Som describes his aesthetic as "understudied elegance and refined sexiness." The son of architects and a graduate of Parsons School of Design, Som became the creative director of Bill Blass in 2007.
