In Touch spends a day at the beach with the actor and his family in Malibu.

Just 10 minutes down the road from their Topanga Canyon farm in California, Ricky Schroder, his wife, Andrea, and their four children -- Holden, 16, (who wasn't home the day In Touch came to visit), Luke, 15, Cambrie, 11, and Faith, 6 -- enjoy the family's Malibu beach house on a daily basis. "We're five minutes from Santa Monica, so it's become a little hub for us with friends," says Andrea. "And who doesn't like going to the beach?" Ricky says he loves their home, which has the ocean and the sand as its backyard, because "of the view and the noise of the waves, along with the gray-and-white decorating scheme." But it is their son Luke who sums it up best: "It is amazing here -- this is heaven."

Celebrity designer Doug Wilson of Moving Up weighs in: "Decorating with gray and white instead of the more traditional mix of blue and white adds sophistication to a room. It's an easy color combination to use when redoing a bedroom or bath."

"I like that the bed is right up against the wall with no headboard and it's next to the windows," Ricky tells In Touch. "I can literally roll over, open a window and feel the breeze from the beach."

Celebrity designer Doug Wilson of Moving Up weighs in: "This is a great example of not following the outdated design rule that says you have to put the bed in the center of the room. Move yours around to see where it feels right."

"Andrea does probably 60 to 70 percent, and I do the rest," Ricky admits. "But I can make decent pasta and sauce, and this morning I made French crepes with brown sugar."

"As you can see, we only have four dining chairs" for six people, Ricky tells In Touch. "So, we also eat on the couch, outside on the deck -- all over the place."

"I like that you can see the ocean from anywhere in the house, including the master bathroom!" says Ricky, whose fancy shower releases eucalyptus oil.

Ricky hits the beach with his son Luke, a surfer. "We really love it here," says Ricky.

Ricky Schroder has been my favorite actor for years - he and Elizabeth Taylor are my favorites. He is the same age as my youngest daughter and he looks somewhat like my son. He is the greatest in my book.

I was hoping to see him and his family at their ranch on the Colorado National Monument. Beautiful family. I guess it is because they were raised with all of that wonderfully clean Colorado air!!

He's a great American!!! He has a strong sense of family values that he lives by. What a beautiful family. I have always enjoyed his acting and admire his politcal veiws. God Bless them!!!
