Alan Jackson's Sweetbriar Estate On Sale

Alan Jacksons Home

Country crooner Alan Jackson has 26 number one hits under his belt--just enough to outnumber the 20 parking spaces in the garage at his massive estate in Franklin, Tennessee. The home, called Sweetbriar, is on the market for a not-very-down-home $38 million.

Jackson and his wife Denise bought the 135-acre property in 1993 and built the house over two years. They're selling it to move somewhere smaller.

"It's just like a Disney World out here," Jackson recently told a Nashville newspaper. "But we realized, as our girls got older, that they don't really use the property much. Once they get to be teenagers, they're mostly hanging out with their friends and on the iPod and cell phones in their rooms. If I'd had three boys instead of girls, they might be out here fishing and riding four-wheelers or something."

With an asking price near $40 million, Sweetbriar is the most expensive residential property for sale in or around Nashville. The 19,000-square-foot house has six bedrooms and seven and a half baths.

The house is secluded, but there's plenty for Jackson's three daughters to do. The home features an exercise room, game room, swimming pool, two-mile ATV track, tennis court, basketball gym, log cabin, four ponds and a boathouse.

Also in the house, but sadly unavailable to any future buyers, are Jackson's collection of more than a dozen antique cars, including his prized '55 Thunderbird, his guitar collection and his platinum records.

Sweetbriar is bordered on two sides by the Harpeth River. A two-story red barn connects the land to its horse farm roots.

For the two of us, we do not need a house that big, but if I did I could not afford it anyway. As for Alan Jacson he is a very good singer and he was gifted from god. Lucky Man!!!
